Before I take stock what lies ahead, I would like to acknowledge those who have made it possible for me. My pranams to the GOD almighty and my parents. Everything I am today is because of them and bow my head before them. I would like to acknowledge at this point of time our Twelve odd consultants and fifty odd employees of Renuka Eye Institute who gave me the confidence and the courage to take on different activities in the world of ophthalmology.

Over the last few years, ophthalmology has undergone revolutionary changes. There are virtual explosion of knowledge, technique and technology. Newer concepts, principles of treatment, investigative modalities and surgical procedures are evolving everyday. We have accessed the best of ultra modern technology, and because of which we are now in a position to treat diseases which are thought to be hitherto untreatable.
Cataract is the single most preventable blindness worldwide. Renuka Eye Institute is the pioneer of latest technology in Cataract Surgery- Foldable IOL, Multifocal, Progressive and Toric Intraocular Lenses. We use the world best phacoemulsification machine available at present, with our only aim to give the best visual outcome to our valued patients. Now patients can enjoy a spectacle free life with multifocal lens implantation in most of the cases. During the last 11 years we have performed more than 90000 cataract surgeries with best results.
Cataract surgery has been mastered by us, but we need to understand that prevalence of diseases like diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, corneal blindness, age related macular-degeneration is constantly on the rise. It is extremely important for all of us to attend these diseases and give the best possible treatment to our beloved patients. It is also important that we realize and we make our patients realize that inspite of best of technology that is available to us, an 80 years old patient cannot hope to see the way he did 5 decades back. Because when these hopes are not met,sometimes it leads to dissatisfaction.
